Samantha Rubino

Samantha Rubino graduated from the Music Conservatory at Valley Christian Schools, under the direction of Mr. Troy Gunter and studied percussion under Wally Schnalle for seven years. Genres of study have included Jazz, Latin Jazz, Vocal Jazz, Afro Cuban and Symphonic.

Samantha was one of the first to complete the piano proficiency courses at the BerkLee College of music where she received a certificate of completion by her Junior year in High School.

Samantha has played and competed in the Reno Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Folsom Jazz Festival and the San Jose Jazz Festival. She has played contemporary worship music for four years.  She has played for the Worship Band at Valley Christian Schools, Evergreen Church and for Cryy Out Christian Fellowship.

She has performed at the Poor House bistro in San Jose and has accompanied local artists such as John Schflett, Jeff Massanari, Rick Vandivier, and Peter Barshay.

In addition to performing Jazz and Worship, Samantha played for four years in the Valley Christian Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band and has performed with the San Jose youth symphony.

Samantha received a Jazz Scholarship to San Jose State University and is currently enrolled in their School of Music.
